About Equus

Equus is a multidisciplinary company that brings together technology, training, psychology, sport and activities with horses to support learning, development and change processes. Its proposal stems from the life and professional journey of its founder, Josep Closas Compte, whose experience combines three fields that come together in a practical, human and results-oriented way of working: computing, equestrianism and psychology.

Josep Closas Compte has more than 40 years of experience linked to the world of computing and new technologies. His professional path began in a self-taught way, learning programming and developing technological solutions at a time when computing and the Internet were beginning to transform the way people worked, communicated and learned. Over the years, he has taken part in projects related to business computing, the web environment, audiovisual production, training and content creation.

Alongside this technological background, his contact with horses more than three decades ago opened up a new line of personal and professional development. He trained as an Equestrian Sports Technician, completed courses in ethology and equine behaviour, and took part in breeding, training and equestrian tourism projects. He has also worked as an instructor, guide and specialist teacher in vocational training related to the world of horses. This experience allowed him to understand equestrianism as an activity in which not only technique is involved, but also emotion, confidence, communication, learning and the relationship between person and horse.

Later, Josep Closas Compte completed his training in Psychology, deepening his knowledge in areas such as behaviour, learning, motivation, anxiety, personality, performance and change processes. This training has been complemented by studies in sports coaching and high-performance psychology, third-generation therapies and legal psychology.

Based on this integration of knowledge, Equus offers services for professionals, small businesses, educational centres, sports organisations, teams and individuals who wish to learn, improve or face change processes with greater clarity and meaning.
